The Vedas, Itihasas and Puranas do not talk about the truth explicitly. Hence scholars find it difficult to make out the truths hidden in them. The atheists take the superficial meaning of the statements in them and argue out their case. The rational ones accept the meaning of the tattoos and develop devotion. The arguments given by the Puranas help more in spreading than in dispelling the darkness of doubts. Hence a scholar should not seek their help. But he should strive to know the truths about Godhead. Lord Hari, the ultimate Supreme Soul is worshipped by bhaktas in order to attain different ends. Lord Hari presents himself in different forms in order to carry on varied activities relating to creation. The ancient Vedas say that Lord Narayanan is the only Supreme Being, all transcending beyond quality, wisdom and bliss, indivisible and the embodiment of eternal truth. All other deities embodying other truths and philosophies are exhibiting the Supreme Being Lord Narayana, who is eternal and is above all forms.
